When your team isn't sure about AI
Where your team is right now decides the first step. Here is one for each situation.
Nobody uses it yet
Start with one task and one tool
When nobody uses AI yet, a broad workshop doesn't stick. Pick one real task, show the team how it works on your own material, and stop there.
Ask everyone to name one task they dread. Pick the most common answer.
If only one or two people will use it, an hour together on that one task may do more than a workshop.

A few people use free tools
Set a simple AI policy before it spreads
Free tools in a few hands usually means business information is going places nobody approved. A one-page policy fixes that before any training.
Ask each person what they've already pasted into a free AI tool. Better to know now.
If it really is just a few people, a written policy and an hour together may do more than a workshop.

We pay for tools nobody uses well
Train on the tools you already pay for
The cheapest improvement is getting value from subscriptions you already have, with your own tasks as the practice material.
List the AI tools you pay for and who has a seat. Note any seat nobody opened last month.
If some seats sat unopened last month, review them before paying for any training. One quiet month isn't enough to go on, so ask who needs each seat, then reassign or cancel the unused ones.

Worried about what gets pasted in
Write down what's safe to share, and where
Worry about data is the right instinct. A written policy naming approved tools and off-limits information comes before anything else.
Check whether the tools you pay for train on your data. The setting is usually on the admin or privacy page.
