Local business website rebuild.

Recovering a lost website from an archive, not a blank page.

Initial condition

A local flooring retailer's previous website was gone, with no usable backup to restore from.

Constraints

The rebuild needed to recover the business's real, existing content rather than start from a blank page, and the result had to stay simple enough for a small retail business to maintain long-term without a developer on call.

What was changed

We recovered the original site content from the Wayback Machine archive, rebuilt it as a fast static site, corrected the contact email to the business's current address, added a working contact form with service options, and ran a look-and-feel improvement pass plus a full pre-launch audit.

Tools used

Wayback Machine archive recovery, a static HTML/CSS build, and Claude Code for the contact form and design pass.

What was human-reviewed

All recovered content was verified against the business's current services and contact details before launch.

Result

The site is live again on a fast static build, with working contact information and a functioning contact form.

Limitations

A rebuild restores presence. It does not by itself restore search visibility lost while the site was down.
